Fromehall Park - Appeal allows housing
On September 10th a Government Inspector ruled that SRFC could build houses on its existing home at Fromehall Park. The decision overules the refusal made by Stroud District Council.
The approval is subject to a number of conditions. The key one is that SRFC cannot develop the site until it has found and developed a new home that is better than the old one.
The ruling on Eastington Park makes it almost impossible for the planning process to reconsider a move there by SRFC.
SRFC's entire strategy was based on its future being secured by a partnership with housing companies & property developers. The current economic crisis means that monies are unlikely to be unlocked in the near future to develop the Fromehall Park site.
