FUTURE HOUSING IN AND AROUND EASTINGTON
(Febrauary 2010 UPDATE)

Stroud District Council is starting to look at where future housing will be allowed.  This is part of the Stroud District Council (SDC) new “Core Strategy.” It is a major planning policy document, which will eventually replace the district-wide Local Plan.  Consultation ends on March 22nd 2010.

Eastington could be allocated up to 2000 additional homes.

SDC has seven options - and Eastington features in every one.  You can see the guide to the plans by DOWNLOADING THE MINI GUIDE produced by SDC.

SDC will be holding a ROADSHOW at the Frampton Community Centre, Lake Lane, Frampton on Wednesday March 3rd between 1500 & 1900.  SDC  representatives will be present for discussions. You can also meet planning officers at the Stroud Sub Room on Saturday March 13th between 1000 & 1300.

The Parish Council (EPC) and Keep Eastington Rural (KER) have already begun to review the proposals. Further discussions will take place within EPC Meetings and there will be an open session at the Parish Council meeting on Tuesday March 9th at the Methodist Church Hall from 1900.

New homes are important for the future of local families and local services .. the important questions are "how many" and "where".  The map below are areas where developers and landowners have offered to build houses.
