Stroud District Council needs to find space for 9200 new homes before 2026 to meet the demands laid down by regional planning guidelines.  Many of these are already accounted for .. but SDC needs to work out where two thousand homes will be built.

Its come up with seven options .. all of which include "Eastingon".

in "Option A" you could see 2000 new homes being built in Eastington, in "Option B" you could see 1000 homes built in Eastington but another 1000 homes being built "West of Stonehouse" - ie the northern part of Eastington Parish.

All of the options can be read in full by downloading the guide to the "Core Strategy"  (Warning - Its a 16 page full colour document so it'll use up your colour printer if you hit "PRINT" on your PC!).

The current round of public consultation is closed.  We had expect another round in the summer but we now await the impact of the coalition Governments decision to scrap the RSS and the targets (see News section)
